Government Rebates and Tax Credits
Before making any purchases or beginning projects, verify that the rebates and tax credits are available. We recommend consulting a tax professional for any tax-related questions.
Rebates
Michigan can help owners and some renters with energy efficiency and electrification projects through two programs.
- Home Energy Rebates: Lower your upfront cost on efficiency upgrades.
- Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates: Lower the cost of efficient electric technologies.
Please note that these programs are managed directly by the State of Michigan and not MEC. The program applications are scheduled to open in March 2025. For more information, visit Michigan's Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
